Mutuelle Program
The Mutuelle Program is one of the flagship humanitarian initiatives of United for Assistance (Ihuriro ry’Inkunga). Through this program, we sponsor Mutuelle de Santé (Community-Based Health Insurance – CBHI) for vulnerable individuals and families in Rwanda.
A Form of Sadaqa Jariyah
Mutuelle sponsorship is not a one-time meal or temporary aid. It provides:
- Year-long access to care
- Repeated doctor visits
- Multiple treatments
- Ongoing protection
Every time the beneficiary seeks medical care, your reward continues. This transforms your sadaqa into ongoing impact.
What Mutuelle de Santé Covers
According to Rwanda’s Community-Based Health Insurance framework:
Mutuelle provides access to:
- Primary healthcare services at local health centers
- Doctor consultations and essential medicines
- Maternal and child healthcare services
- Laboratory tests and basic diagnostics
- Hospitalization at district and referral hospitals
- Referral services to higher-level facilities when necessary
- Subsidized care with minimal co-payment
The system significantly reduces out-of-pocket medical expenses and prevents catastrophic health-related poverty.
For vulnerable families, having Mutuelle means:
- Early treatment instead of delayed care
- Safe pregnancy and childbirth
- Access to medication for chronic illnesses
- Protection from financial hardship due to sickness
Health coverage restores dignity, stability, and hope.

Quran
Allah says:
“And whoever saves one life – it is as if he had saved all of mankind.”
(Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:32)
Supporting health coverage contributes directly to preserving life.
Allah also says:
“The believers, men and women, are allies of one another.”
(Surah At-Tawbah 9:71)
Mutuelle sponsorship is an act of community alliance and solidarity.
Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others.”
(Al-Mu’jam Al-Awsat)
He also said:
“Whoever relieves a believer’s hardship in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection.”
(Sahih Muslim)
By removing the hardship of medical insecurity, donors earn reward both in this world and the next.
