Why Microfinance Charity?

United for Assistance (UA) is engaged in providing short and long-term interest-free loans to local associations (known as cooperatives) whose mission and activities fall between the lines of UA’s mission and objectives. UA believes these loans can support the beneficiaries to empower them and lift their social and economic conditions by creating income generating activities that can gradually give them the ability to support themselves for long term. The aim is to teach the impoverished families to fish but not to feed them with fish.

Our Method

Periodically UA evaluates the potential projects that can change the life of impoverished families and seeks the donations to fund them. Once the funds are available, the selected beneficiaries sign a contract with UA’s local coordinator before to receive the funds. Based, on presented business plan, UA continues to monitor the use of interest-free loan.

Microfinance Charity in Action

Since 2018 at least 40 families in Ngozi (Burundi) have received interest-free loan to support their small businesses.
